At Cleveland Eyecare, OD, PA, Dr. Shep Hamrick and our entire Shelby optometry team are committed to providing advanced vision care in a professional and comfortable environment. Our comprehensive eye exam analyzes eye health and vision and includes a prescription for glasses if needed.  We also provide testing for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other diseases that may be detected through careful periodic examinations.

Eye Exams

The American Optometric Association recommends an initial infant eye assessment before one year of age and a complete eye exam before age five or before starting school. Children should have eye exams annually if they wear glasses, otherwise every two years unless there are problems.  Adults should have an eye exam at least every two years, and annually after age sixty. Contact lens wearers should be examined annually.

Dr. Hamrick and the Cleveland Eyecare, OD, PA team take a careful history in order to identify your problems or specific needs.  We have implemented and maintain the most up to date electronic medical record systems to keep your records safe, secure, and readily available for communication with other health care providers. We have the latest instrumentation and imaging equipment to accurately diagnose and monitor your eye health.  Dr. Hamrick will thoroughly review the results of your exam and discuss any additional testing that may be required to diagnose an eye disease or condition.
